Footnotes in latex tables

June 12, 2013

Apparently putting footnotes in tables is considered bad practice, and so latex doesn’t let you do it. There are a number of workarounds, but here’s my favourite: just use the \begin{longtable}...\end{longtable} environment in the longtable package instead of \begin{tabular}...\end{tabular}. This has the added bonus of allowing you to create long tables that run over more than one page.
