My favourite way of including citations in latex beamer presentations

November 13, 2012

Put this is the preamble:

\newcommand{\semfootnote}[1]{\let\thefootnote\relax\footnotetext{#1}}

Then do slides like this:

\frame{
  \includegraphics[width = 2.3in]{frequentists_vs_bayesians}
  \semfootnote{http://xkcd.com/1132/}
}

BTW: Andrew Gelman doesn’t like what’s behind this particular footnote: http://xkcd.com/1132/, and neither do I really.
