Huge macroecological mammal data set

October 31, 2012

I slept on this one a bit, so many people will already know about this, but here’s a link anyways…just because these data deserve as much advertisement as possible.

Connect to the internet, turn on R, and enter these five lines:

comm <- read.csv('http://esapubs.org/archive/ecol/E092/201/data/MCDB_communities.csv')
refs <- read.csv('http://esapubs.org/archive/ecol/E092/201/data/MCDB_references.csv')
sites <- read.csv('http://esapubs.org/archive/ecol/E092/201/data/MCDB_sites.csv')
species <- read.csv('http://esapubs.org/archive/ecol/E092/201/data/MCDB_species.csv')
traps <- read.csv('http://esapubs.org/archive/ecol/E092/201/data/MCDB_trapping.csv')
